If you get a moment, it’s well worth your time to peruse the very glamorous collection assembled for this temporary boutique. I spotted a number of authentic military waistcoats that could easily be mistaken for pieces from Alexander McQueen’s Fall/Winter 2008 collection and even a heavily embellished Oleg Cassini cocktail dress. The House of Masquerade is located at 68-72 Redchurch Street, Shoreditch, London E2 7DP. It is open from 5:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m.  Enjoy!

Mulberry: with carousels and carnival-like amusement fare on the mind, Mulberry displayed a luxe collection of clothing and accessories amongst beautifully painted carousel horses this season. It’s interesting to see the evolution of a house from key accessories to an entire lifestyle brand. The clothes and bags were definitely in competition with each other for center-stage –which do you think won?

Temperley: The likes of the circus, carnival, and all things under the big top proved to be inspiration for many designers this season, as we saw the trend continue at Temperley. We appreciated the arrangement of the mannequins that seemed a bit more lively than other presentations we’ve seen, and the original video installation with Spring 2010’s looks was an added treat. Despite the theme which could have gone to the costumey side, these pieces will prove to be wearable, in particular the black and white pieces.

Tibi (Backstage pics): One of our favorites every season, Tibi’s Amy Smilovic lived up to her reputation of amazing prints and ethereal, feminine frocks. One of the most calm backstage visits we’ve had in ages, we can only wonder if the clothes somehow miraculously channeled their calm, cool aesthetic into the pre-runway preparations….

I am a serial shopper. It’s a problem. I’ve accepted it. (That’s the first step to recovery right?)

That being said, I see so many articles of clothing, pieces of jewelry and cool accessories in my daily internet perusals that I am rarely rendered speechless by something in particular. But girls, it has happened. I actually came across something that has stopped me dead in my Internet browsing tracks, screaming inside “OMFG! This is genius!”

Are you dying to know?

They are called Bandits, fabric boot embellishments that slip over the top of your adorable yet simple fall boots to make them fresh, new and totally awesome.

This is genius in so many ways.  Allow me to count them out:

1. You can have 8 boots in 1 by simply buying different Bandits to slip around the top. Finally, making your pieces last for more than one season is super easy (and fun!).

2. There are so many boot trends right now that it is hard to keep up, especially on a college student’s budget. But with the quick slip of a Bandit you can take your basic boot from girly, to rocker chic, to Native American inspired, to grunge. And all without having to shell out another $100-$200 per pair to fit your many style moods. All you really need is a basic pair of black and brown (which are easy to find and often at a good price) and you’re good to go for years.

3. Your boots are now ultra versatile. I would also never purchase boots with these elaborate details because it would restrict them to fitting one category of outfit, whether it be by color scheme, style or feel. If I feel like going rocker chick on day with a leather jacket and chunky metallic jewelry, my leather boots will look totally out of the loop if they have a girly, Victorian inspired appliqué. But if I can change out the embellishment for a leather strap and a double gold chain, I’ve got the complete package.

4. Um, they’re cute?! These boot bracelets are super adorable and totally unique. You won’t find boots with this sort of detailing in stores unless you’ve got some serious cash to burn.

For someone who gets bored with my closet way too quickly (especially when that closet is made up of staples that I justified purchasing by my favorite mantra: “this will last me for years”), this accessory is a lifesaver. I’m starting my Christmas list now, and this is number one. And maybe number two.

Have you noticed that the military coat has stepped back on stage this season? Are you as excited as I? Because I am definitely a big fan of the military coat. Also if you want to stay warm and look stylish this season, one of the most essential pieces is definitely the military coat, just like this one from Express – complete with bling-y buttons. Here my only suggestion is you’d better go to the store to try those winter coats on, just make sure the style and cut look great on you because winter coats are always a splurge.

Leighton Meester was wearing a beautiful plaid coat while filming a scene as Blair Waldorf in Central Park. The coat used a blend of different shades of grey and was just absolutely stunning. I love the way it’s belted so casually.

The character Blair Waldorf is not the sort of person who would wear anything but the best so Leighton was wearing a Theory Nivalis coat in dark charcoal. It can be purchased over here for $595.

The jeans are made from feather-light Japanese denim with a 5% stretch, which makes them extremely soft and comfortable with an awesome body-conscious silhouette. In fact, the brand boasts that its product “is where uptown quality meets downtown edge” – something I can certainly agree with, especially when you take into consideration the line’s superior cuts and fabrics with a price point more affordable than other brands of similar quality (basic styles are around $180).

For those of you interested in eco-friendly brands, you’re sure to like Blue Notch. They own their own washing factory (one of the only denim houses in the world to do so!) in Korea that uses natural springs and includes a special water filtration system that works to reduce their carbon footprint.

For their Spring 2010 collection, you can expect to find their lightweight denim in traditional cuts, as well as boyfriend cutoffs, denim jackets, and jeans featuring embellishments such as cool zipper and studding details.
